The government department Communities and Local Government (CLG) has asked stakeholders to submit feedback on the current Building Regulations by the end of August 2010. he aim is to help CLG to decide priorities for improving for improving the Building Regulations.
On 6 August 2010 , the Scottish Criminal Justice and Licensing Law received Royal Assent. This law includes an amendment which will require applicants for new full premises licences to demonstrate how accessible their premises are.
Concerns have been raised over the Government’s Community Right to Build plans, which will be central to the forthcoming Localism Bill.
An alliance of 29 groups has written to the Communities and Local Government (CLG) Secretary Eric Pickles, urging the Government not to overlook planning at a ‘larger than local level’.
The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) has asked the Government to demonstrate that it has met its legal obligations to consider the effect of budget cuts on particular people.
