Design Council CABE invites applications for local design grants PDF Print E-mail

The Design Council CABE has invited applications to its Neighbourhood Projects Small Grants Programme, which will offer grants of up to £7,000 to not-for-profit organisations to:

improve design quality by providing support to neighbourhood projects relating to the new planning system
explore new ways of working between Design Council CABE and organisations that support local groups or projects
share learning on the best ways to deliver local design support

Projects must be in England and must involve working directly with the community, and the grant must be used to achieve distinct, identifiable outcomes. Examples of projects include preparation of a neighbourhood plan or developing community-owned assets, and the support provided could be at any stage from scoping through to implementation.

The deadline for submitting applications is 1 August 2011

In a separate scheme, existing design review panels have been invited to apply for grants of up to £7,000 to engage with local communities.
