The Civic Trust, in partnership with the Centre for Accessible Environments (CAE) is to deliver a new awards scheme in recognition of architect and founding figure of inclusive design, Selwyn Goldsmith. 
 
The Government has laid regulations relating to the specific duties, which are designed to help implementation of the public sector Equality Duty, before Parliament. These apply to public bodies working in England and across Great Britain.

In the case of Michael Beedles v Guinness Northern Counties Limited, the Court of Appeal has upheld the original judgment that the landlord was not responsible to carry out repair and decoration work so that the disabled tenant could ‘enjoy’ his property.
 
Following reforms to the Blue Badge scheme announced in February 2011, the Department for Transport (DfT) has announced the companies successful in winning a contract to help implement the reforms, which include a shared administration between local authorities, an online eligibility checker and a centra database of all Blue Badges on issue.

The Vodafone Foundation, the charitable division of the telecommunications company Vodafone, has launched a competition to promote accessible and assistive smartphone applications.
 
The telecommunications company Cable and Wireless has launched a charitable foundation, and has announced that it is seeking to partner with organisations that support the specialist communication requirements of disabled people.
