The Access Assocation PDF Print E-mail

The Access Association was formed to create a network and support body for professionals who work in the field of access. Most Access Association members' primary responsibility is to promote and facilitate accessible environments and services.

The Association aims to:

  • support existing access professionals and Access Officers
  • promote the appointment of access professionals in local authorities
  • support Access Professionals in their role of consulting disabled people in their communities
  • liaise with access groups, or in establishing groups where they do not already exist
  • exchange knowledge and experience amongst members

Key advice for access groups: Nominate at least one member of your group to join the Access Association. There is a fee for this, but that person will gain valuable networking opportunities with key people involved in access in the local area. They will be able to update the group frequently on any projects or developments taking place locally, and will provide a link between the group and access professionals.
