Building and development processes PDF Print E-mail

This section will give you an overview of how building and development processes work in England and Wales, at both a local and national level. There are a whole host of regulations that govern what can be built, and where they can be built. These aim to ensure that high-quality and inclusive spaces and places are produced.

Your access group should use this section to gain a general understanding of how these processes work, and who the key players are. This will make it much easier to keep abreast of local developments and become involved where necessary. You should aim to build up a good working relationship with certain individuals in your local authority so that they are aware of who you are and what you can offer.
