This website was originally developed by Disability Wales/Anabledd Cymru on behalf of the Disability Rights Commission (DRC). After the closure of the DRC in September 2007, the website was inherited by the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC). In 2008, the EHRC asked the Centre for Accessible Environments (CAE) to take on the website administration and upkeep. CAE was ideally placed to continue the website’s development, given its longstanding and proven commitment to access issues and inclusive design. As it expands and improves the information and features on the website, CAE will be supported by RADAR, who will raise awareness of the resource through its valuable network of contacts. RADAR has a long history of supporting access groups and local disability groups concerned with access issues. It is therefore ideally placed to work with CAE to ensure the web resources reach the grassroots and reflect their needs. |
