Chelmsford Borough Council celebrates International Day of Disabled People
Chelmsford Borough Council is hosting an event to coincide with the International Day of Disabled People on 3 December 2009. The programme includes guest speakers on social inclusion and inclusive design and many exhibitors and information stands, as well as a wheelchair basketball match, James Maggs Entertainer, and the Mencap Gateway Dancers. The event is free but tickets must be obtained to attend.

Planning Aid for London audio guide launch event

On 7 December 2009 at the Canal Museum, London, Planning Aid for London will be launching an design and planning audio guide. The free audio guide, produced in collaboration with National Talking Express and a group of young visually impaired people, aims to help young disabled people to get involved in shaping the design and planning of their local area. Excerpts from the guide will be played at this event.

Inclusion London consultation workshop

This half-day workshop for disability organisations takes place on 8 December at City Hall, London. The workshop will discuss the three draft strategies recently published by the Mayor of London: the London Plan, the Transport Strategy and the Economic Development Strategy.
